Chris Nations is an accomplished problem solver and team leader. His broad experience as an owner and developer gives him the ability to understand each project from conception through completion. He brings a developer’s mindset and realistic solutions tailored to each project’s needs. Most importantly, he listens and can translate the project goals effectively to the team to create results. 


Chris began his career overseeing athletic construction and the daily operations of a variety of projects including some of the most prestigious athletic facilities in the country. He is a seasoned project management professional with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of project management for universities, municipalities and private development. He created Nations Group based on the desire to provide a holistic approach to project development, project management and financing. Chris received his master's degree from Indiana State University and his B.S. from Indiana University.

Chris has represented a variety of clients, including Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, Indiana State University, California State University at Long Beach, Santa Clara University, University of California – Riverside, University of Maryland, University of Minnesota, University of Montana, University of West Florida, University of Wisconsin – Madison, University of Memphis, University of Missouri – Kansas City, City of Cedar Rapids (Iowa), Rio Rancho (New Mexico), Town of Prescott Valley (Arizona), City and County of Broomfield (Colorado), City of Youngstown (Ohio), and Great Hearts Academies, (Arizona).

Chris is an active member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), the Interscholastic Association of Venue Management (IAVM) and Urban Land Institute (ULI). He has also served as a member of the Stadium Managers Association and on the board of the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission.

Steven Bauer brings over 30 years of project development experience to Nations Group. His expertise spans many product types and multiple markets. His career has been focused on all aspects of real estate acquisition, project underwriting, project finance, consultant management, entitlement, building and tenant improvement construction management, leasing and sales management, property management, and disposition. 

As Vice President of Construction Services for Nations Group, his responsibilities include leading and managing a team of project managers as well as overseeing many Nations Group projects. Steven brings strong technical and problem solving skills to the design and construction phases of every project. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business.
